J&B Blue Program (Research Paper)“A Head Start to College: Studying Sustainability and Using UVA as a Case Study” Highlights: J&B consulted the client on creating a *,000-word research paper on climate change innovations, utilizing UVA as a case study, where they were recently accepted. The team met with an expert from MIT to discuss recent developments within the sustainability field and helped the client identify a specific focus, case study, and demographic for their research project. At the end of the project, the client felt more knowledgeable about their topic and the structure of research papers, and better prepared to take full advantage of UVA’s opportunities. The Topic:J&B consulted the client on creating a *,000-word research paper on climate change innovations, utilizing UVA as a case study. The client used the independent study project as an opportunity to prepare for UVA, where they were recently accepted. The Process:At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to brainstorm ideas and develop research goals for the project. As the client was interested in researching sustainability efforts connected to Charlottesville or UVA, the team shared relevant scholarly articles to give the client background information. The team also met with an expert from MIT to discuss recent developments within the sustainability field. After the client read J&B’s materials, the team and client were able to identify a specific focus, case study, and demographic for their paper together. J&B then shared additional materials on the client’s narrowed-down focus. J&B prepared a detailed outline for the client including an introduction, literature, methodology, discussion, and conclusion section. The client used J&B’s outline to create their first draft, which J&B edited. The client then produced their literature review and methodology section, which the team edited while the client worked on their discussion and conclusion sections. J&B carefully edited and revised the client’s discussion and conclusion while reviewing the entirety of the draft and polishing it as a whole. At the end of the project, the client wrote their abstract following J&B’s guidance, which the team edited and finalized for the client. Writing Style:The client is an inquisitive writer who entered the project with the hopes of expanding their knowledge of sustainability. Throughout the project, J&B helped the client clarify any questions that came up regarding their research while helping them incorporate dissertations, journal articles, or reports written by UVA graduate students, faculty, and professors into their paper. J&B also worked closely with the client to help their sentences flow smoothly while developing their paraphrasing. At the end of the project, the client felt more knowledgeable about their topic and the structure of research papers, and better prepared to take full advantage of UVA’s opportunities. J&B’s Key Goals: Scholarly research Innovation Collaboration Structure and organization Journal Selection Process:As the client embarked on this project to prepare for their sustainability major at UVA, the J&B team was confident that an independent study paper would be an ideal opportunity for the client. The client hoped to gain an internship in Charlottesville while at UVA; writing their research paper on UVA’s sustainability developments was an excellent opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of current developments and complications within their desired field. After working with J&B, the client completed the project confident and excited to advance their knowledge in college.
