J&B Red Program (Op-ed)“An Op-Ed Advocating Change in America” Highlights: J&B worked with the client to create an 8*0-word op-ed exploring anti-Asian hate crimes in America. The J&B team gathered essay goals and materials from the client, found relevant sources to defend their stance, helped them prepare the first draft of their essay, and polished their final draft so that it was ready for submission. J&B helped the client develop an informed, argumentative tone, incorporate sources into their essay via hyperlinks, and create unique analyses to make their op-ed stand out. The Topic:J&B worked with the client on an 8*0-word op-ed exploring anti-Asian hate crimes in America. The op-ed needed to address a problem or issue with a unique response and strong evidence. The essay had to be crafted to suit a targeted publication, and its language needed to reflect that of the publication. Overall, the essay needed to build off of existing conversations surrounding its topic. The Process:J&B worked in a three-person team and worked closely with the client to ensure that their essay met their goals. At the start of the project, the team gathered model essays, opinion pieces, and assignment materials from the client. After assessing the client’s essay goals, J&B helped the client prepare a first draft of their essay, finding relevant sources to defend their stance. After receiving the client’s feedback, J&B polished and edited the client’s final draft so that it was ready for submission.
