J&B Red Program (Scripts)“Two PowerPoint Presentations for Two Iconic Musicians” Highlights: J&B consulted with the client and created two PowerPoint presentations and 10-minute scripts exploring compositions from the composers Camille Saint Saens and Jean Sibelius for a Master’s level Music History course. Working within a three-person team on three-step projects, J&B gathered historical backgrounds of each composer, included a musical analysis of the compositions, and helped the client craft detailed discussions sections. Given the client’s talent as a musician, J&B incorporated their musical knowledge into the two PowerPoints while helping them develop the research component of their presentations. J&B helped the client rehearse their scripts before their in-class presentations. The Topic:J&B worked with the client to create two PowerPoint presentations exploring two separate compositions from the composers Camille Saint Saens and Jean Sibelius for a Master’s level Music History course. At the end of the project, J&B provided the client with two detailed presentations and 10-minute presentation scripts to accompany each PowerPoint. The Process:J&B worked in a three-person team to help the client structure their PowerPoint presentations to meet the requirements of their assignment. Following the client’s assignment guidelines, J&B included historical backgrounds of each composer, a musical analysis of the compositions, and detailed discussion sections in both presentations. J&B independently research the client’s composers, then provided the client with in-depth knowledge of each composer to compliment the client’s technical knowledge of the compositions. J&B broke the projects into three steps, communicating back-and-forth with the client to exchange information and feedback. Writing Style:As the client is a skilled musician, J&B helped the client incorporate their knowledge of form, melodic structure, rhythmic devices, orchestration, and performance considerations into their PowerPoints. By helping the client with the research component of their presentations, J&B was able to provide the client with a strong background for the discussion section of their PowerPoints. J&B also kept the client’s desired tone and audience in mind when helping craft their presentation scripts, which J&B rehearsed with the client to prepare them to give oral presentations of their PowerPoints in class.
