The team carefully reviewed the client’s rough draft of their essay, brainstormed with the client, and actively edited and revised the client’s final draft while incorporating the client’s notes into their final essay. Case:J&B consulted with the client on their 600-word Common App essay. Background:The client is extremely passionate about learning and teaching mathematics. The team worked closely with the client to ensure that their Common App essay represented not only their knowledge of complex mathematical formulas but also showed their commitment to celebrating the “universality” of math and numbers. To amplify their interest in solving complex formulas, the team suggested that the client incorporate the problem-solving steps they underwent while solving a specific math problem to bring their readers into their thought process. The Process:At the start of the project, the client presented J&B with a rough draft of the Common App essay, which the team carefully reviewed and returned to the client with suggestions. Next, the team met with the client via Zoom to discuss the next editing steps of their Common App and to gather further feedback and goals from the client. In addition to actively revising and editing the client’s draft, J&B made sure to incorporate the client’s notes into their final Common App essay.
