J&B Blue Program (John Locke)“Imagining A World Without Taxes” Highlights: J&B worked with the client on a 1,*00-word essay for the John Locke Essay Competition addressing the Economics prompt: “A government funds its own expenditure by taxing its population. Suppose, instead, it relied solely on money newly created by the central bank? What would be the advantages and/or disadvantages?” J&B split the project into a brainstorming session, topic selection, lecture, outlining stage, draft writing, and editing and revising. To help the client expand their economics knowledge, the team shared scholarly sources with the client to help them elaborate on their claims. What would be the advantages and/or disadvantages?” The Result:Prize Winner The Process:At the start of the project, the J&B team met with the client to brainstorm potential prompts. As the client was interested in three prompts, J&B shared relevant readings related to each prompt to help them decide. Once the client selected a topic, the team prepared a 40-minute lecture and ten scholarly sources for the client to expand their background knowledge. Next, J&B shared a detailed outline with the client to assist them with their essay. The client utilized J&B’s essay as a guide when writing their essay, which the team edited and revised so that it would be ready in time for submission to John Locke. Writing Style:The client is an analytical writer with a growing interest in economics. To help the client expand their economics knowledge, the team shared scholarly sources with the client to help them elaborate on their claims. J&B also assisted the client with clarifying their introduction, building on their counterclaim and conclusion, paraphrasing, and citations.
