Highlights: J&B worked with the client to prepare five poems for the YoungArts Competition. The team broke the project down into: a brainstorming phase, topic selection, outlining portion, draft writing, and editing and revision. To help the client logically organize their stanzas using more than one language, the J&B team worked with them on strategic capitalization, creativity, poetic descriptions, inter-poetic dialogue, and interpretive language. The Topic: J&B worked with the client to prepare five poems for the YoungArts Competition. The Process: At the start of the project, J&B met with the client to brainstorm potential categories and topics for YoungArts. After assessing the client’s areas of interest, J&B recommended that the client submit entries to the poetry category. The team also prepared potential topics for five poems, which the client reviewed and accepted. Next, the team prepared details outlines for each poem, to help the client write their first drafts. The client wrote their first drafts utilizing J&B’s outline as a guide, and the team reviewed their drafts and returned them with edits and guidance for their next set of drafts. After following J&B’s suggestions, the client worked on their final set of poems, which J&B carefully edited and polished so that they would be ready to submit to YoungArts.
