J&B recommended ten writing pieces that best highlighted the client’s strengths, identified overarching themes that connected them, and helped the client develop a logical structure and organization for their portfolio. J&B worked with the client to build their self-awareness as a writer, as well as to help them understand the key ideas that connected their work from varying genres. The Topic:The J&B consulting team worked with the client to prepare a writing portfolio showcasing ten of the client’s outstanding works. The team also collaborated with the client on a detailed cover letter for their portfolio. In addition to acting as a key learning experience, the final, polished writing portfolio was a strong addition to the client’s college admissions projects and resume. The Process:The J&B team carefully consulted with the client to gather a wide variety of writing materials and used their expertise to recommend ten writing samples that best highlighted the client’s strengths and goals as a writer. The team then assisted the client in developing a two-page cover letter that identified overarching themes, intentions, and motivations that connected all ten works together. J&B also consulted on the structure and organization of the client’s portfolio, suggesting a table of contents with a logical narrative. The team also helped the client develop an abstract to go along with each piece of writing to help their readers better navigate the portfolio’s content.
